I’d gone around to a few different places and knew what I wanted to pay out-the-door and Thomas was very fair and considered and met my price without wasting either his or my time. Then Jeff helped me out with the paperwork. The whole transaction took about one afternoon. Meanwhile, at some other dealers, it took the whole afternoon just to get the real price. I am not sure this will accomplish anything due to the time period between purchase and attempted use of a purchased product. I gave a one star basically to get a message from the owner. I have been a customer since 2012 and have had great experience with the dealership until what I have described below. I bought a new car, Honda Insight Touring trim in June of 2021 from Coggins. This car came without a spare tire. On March 17th of 2024, I purchased a new rim for $422 to match the existing rims. The roadside service insurance was due to expire in June of 2024. I did not replace the original tires until July 14th of 2025 which was the first time the new rim was taken out of the box. The technician changing my tires took me to the work area to show me this was not a new rim. Marks indicated that a tire had been on the rim (pictures are available). There was no indication that the wheel had been mounted on a car. Basically, cosmetic marks indicated tire changing equipment had been used. Later, the technician told me I had been sold the wrong size rim, a sixteen inch instead of the required seventeen inch. I attempted to return the rim on July 15th of 2025 and it was indicated they would initially accept the return. I was also, shown the receipt from March 17th of 2024. Several attempts were made to refund the money to my credit card but were rejected because of the software not accepting a “parts” number. Every indication was given at this time that the refund would be honored. I left with neither rim nor refund after being told they were waiting for an email from the accounting office. On July 17th, I called the parts department and was told the refund had been rejected. talked to General Manager this morning; the situation is resolved for the best. Rating changed to 3 stars and will be changed to 4 stars upon agreed solution. Situation resolved to my satisfaction. Rating changed to 4 stars and will now consider buying my next car from Coggins Honda again!
