Trunk or Treat

October 30, 2021 | Bennington, VT

Coggins Honda of Bennington is frightfully excited to announce our Trunk or Treat Event on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 with even more sweet treats than last year and loads of Halloween spirit in a safe environment for kids of all ages. Trunk or Treat is a great way for families to get together in one location away from traffic to provide kids a safe place to trick or treat, while giving an opportunity for hosts to be as fun and creative as they want to be. The kids and their parents love the atmosphere and it gives the staff of Coggins Honda a chance to serve our community in a fun way and make new friends along the way.

Unlike traditional trick-or-treating, where kids must go from house to house and avoid cars on the street, Trunk or Treat takes place entirely on the grounds of Coggins Auto Group, starting at the Ford store and working their way along a path through the Toyota and Honda lots that are festooned with decorations and occupied by creatively adorned cars and trucks with candy treats in abundance. Valerie Sawin, Coggins Auto Group Business Development Manager, said they are thrilled to be hosting again. "We have such a big complex. We're not taking up any streets. We have a huge parking lot and there's enough room to park and set up an event. It's safe and it's all in one area."

Each Coggins store is engaging in a little friendly competition to see which one can come up with the most spooktacular Halloween decorations. "Oh yeah, it's game time," Sawin said with a laugh.

Local first responders are jumping at the opportunity to get involved as well with the  Bennington Police Department, Bennington County Sheriff's Department, and Bennington Fire Department sending decorated vehicles and enthusiastic officers looking to have some fun with the kids and make some poitive connections within our community.

Other participants to look for are Mission City Church, Ocean State Job Lot, The Learning Tree, Growing-Upright at Southwest Tech, United Counseling Services, the Berkshire Family YMCA, Helping Hands of Bennington County, Project Against Violent Encounters, and Sunrise Family Resource Center.

Join Coggins Auto Group and the Bennington Banner in celebrating this year's Trunk or Treat at 897 North Bennington Road (Route 67A) and be ready for a ghoulishly awesome time!
